Our website may use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, embedded content, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand traffic, measure performance, and support advertising. Your browser may allow you to limit or block cookies, although some website functions may not work properly as a result. Third-party tools are governed by their own privacy policies.
How We Share Information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary to operate our business and provide services, including with website hosts, domain registrars, payment processors, email and cloud-storage providers, analytics and advertising services, printers, production vendors, independent contractors, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a merger, sale, financing, or transfer of business assets. JLD Marketing does not rent or sell client contact information as a standalone product.
Client Materials and Portfolio Use
Unless a written agreement states otherwise, JLD Marketing may display completed, publicly released work in its portfolio, website, social media, presentations, and promotional materials. Confidential information, unpublished credentials, private customer lists, and sensitive account information will not be intentionally displayed. Clients may request a written confidentiality arrangement before project work begins.
Data Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we maintain. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information maintained by JLD Marketing, subject to identity verification and any legal or business recordkeeping requirements. You may also opt out of promotional communications. Requests may be submitted through the contact information or contact form available at jld.marketing.
Third Party Websites
Our website and project communications may link to third-party websites or services. JLD Marketing does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content practices of those third parties.
Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The revised effective date will appear at the top of the policy. Material changes may also be communicated through our website or directly to active clients when appropriate.
Cancellation Deposit and Refund Policy
Deposits and Initial Payments
All deposits, retainers, setup fees, reservation payments, and initial project payments are nonrefundable once paid. These payments reserve production time, cover onboarding and administrative work, and compensate JLD Marketing for turning away other work and beginning project preparation. A deposit is not a guarantee that every requested concept, revision, result, platform approval, or marketing outcome will be achieved.
Client Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. A project is not considered cancelled until JLD Marketing confirms receipt. The client remains responsible for all nonrefundable deposits, work completed through the cancellation date, approved expenses, third-party charges, rush fees, and any cancellation or offboarding fee stated in the proposal, invoice, service agreement, or this policy.
Website Cancellation and Offboarding Fee
Website design, website development, redesign, e-commerce, hosting-management, and website-maintenance engagements are subject to a $250 cancellation and administrative offboarding fee when the client cancels before the agreed project or service term is completed or requests a transfer to another provider. Unless a written agreement expressly states otherwise, this fee is in addition to the nonrefundable deposit, charges for completed work, outstanding invoices, and nonrecoverable third-party expenses.
The $250 fee covers reasonable administrative and technical work associated with closing the engagement, which may include preparing account information, documenting DNS settings, coordinating authorized domain or website transfers, exporting available website files or content, organizing credentials supplied by the client, and communicating with a replacement provider. Additional work outside normal offboarding may be quoted separately at JLD Marketing’s current hourly rate.
Domain Names Hosting and Account Transfers
Domain ownership and transfer rights are determined by the applicable proposal, registration records, service agreement, and proof of payment. When a client-owned domain is eligible for transfer, JLD Marketing will cooperate with an authorized transfer after verifying the request and completing the applicable offboarding process. Transfer timing may be affected by registrar rules, security holds, recent registrations or transfers, expired domains, inaccurate registrant information, or third-party platform requirements. Domain registrations, renewals, hosting, software licenses, premium plugins, email services, SSL certificates, and similar third-party purchases are nonrefundable once ordered or renewed unless the vendor issues a refund.
Service Specific Cancellation Terms
Service | Cancellation terms |
Branding and design | Deposits are nonrefundable. The client must pay for completed concepts, revisions, production work, licensed assets, and approved expenses through the cancellation date. |
Printing and signage | Orders cannot be cancelled after production, proof approval, material ordering, or submission to a production vendor. Custom printed products are nonrefundable except for a confirmed production defect. |
Social media and content | Deposits and scheduled retainers are nonrefundable. Completed or scheduled work, licensed assets, and approved production expenses remain payable. |
Advertising and marketing | Management fees, setup fees, creative work, and third-party advertising spend already incurred or committed are nonrefundable. Advertising performance is not guaranteed. |
Hosting and maintenance | Prepaid periods, renewals, registrations, licenses, and third-party platform charges are nonrefundable. Cancellation stops future service after the paid or agreed term unless the written agreement states otherwise. |
Rush and priority work | Rush fees are nonrefundable once priority scheduling or work begins. |
Refunds and Credits
Except where required by law or expressly stated in writing, payments are nonrefundable after work, scheduling, purchasing, production, or service delivery begins. Any approved refund or credit is limited to the amount JLD Marketing actually received for the affected service, excluding completed work, processing costs, chargeback fees, third-party expenses, and nonrefundable deposits. Credits have no cash value and must be used within the period stated when issued.
Project Delays and Client Inactivity
Clients are responsible for providing content, approvals, credentials, feedback, and payments on time. If a client becomes unresponsive or delays a project, JLD Marketing may pause work, move the project in the production schedule, charge a restart or rescheduling fee when disclosed, or close the project after reasonable written notice. Payments already made remain nonrefundable, and a new estimate may be required to resume work.
Termination by JLD Marketing
JLD Marketing may suspend or terminate services for nonpayment, abusive or unlawful conduct, repeated failure to provide required materials, security concerns, requests that violate law or platform rules, or a material breach of an agreement. The client remains responsible for completed work and committed expenses. If JLD Marketing ends a project for reasons unrelated to client conduct or breach, any refund will be limited to the unearned portion of payments for work not performed, excluding nonrefundable deposits and third-party costs, unless otherwise required by law.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Clients should contact JLD Marketing promptly to resolve billing concerns before initiating a chargeback. Filing a chargeback does not cancel the underlying agreement or eliminate valid payment obligations. JLD Marketing may suspend services, hosting management, file delivery, or future work while a payment dispute is pending, subject to applicable law and ownership rights.
Acceptance and Controlling Agreement
A signed proposal, service agreement, statement of work, or written project-specific term may add to or modify this policy. If a project-specific written agreement conflicts with this policy, the project-specific agreement controls for that project. By approving a proposal, paying an invoice, or authorizing work after receiving these terms, the client acknowledges and accepts the applicable cancellation, deposit, refund, and offboarding terms.
Contact
Questions, privacy requests, and written cancellation notices may be submitted through the contact information or contact form available at jld.marketing. Include your name, business name, project or invoice number when available, and a clear description of the request.
Business notice: These policies are a general business template and should be reviewed by a qualified Maryland attorney before publication or use in client contracts, particularly for existing clients or projects involving consumer subscriptions, automatic renewals, regulated data, or clients outside the United States.
